A little help from the experts

Hi there! People seem to really know what they are talking about here, so I thought I would ask for a little help from the experts.

I am 5'5, 140 pounds, and want to lose those last annoying 15 from having my baby boy. I want to shoot for 1 pound a week, and thought the following might work out?

1500 calories, 60% carbs, 20% protein, 20% fat. Workout for 30 minutes, or the equivalent of 300 calories a day.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to whether this will help me lose a pound a week or not? What about my proportions? Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: A little help from the experts

I know where your coming from, I had twins and I am about your height, maybe a half inch taller and I was stuck at 140-145 for months trying to get it off.

I don't really like your ratios, I think a little less on the carbs and a bit more protein would be better for weight loss. Personally I like 40 carbs, 40 protein, 20 fat. Also you will not burn 300 calories in 30 mins unless you are all out sprinting the 30 mins. I would advise 5 days of cardio a week, 45 mins a session and also some resistance training, the more lean muscle you add the more calories you burn, even at rest. I think 1500 calories is a good starting place. Make sure you are eating lean meats, veggies, low GI fruits, healthy fats and minimize your starchy carbs for optimal weight loss. Good luck, I got there with hard work, you can too.
