I just started juice fasting today 1/29/2007 I am trying to lose 50 pounds within 5-7 months.

Has anyone done this and know of any juice recipes?

Re: Juice Fasting

I started doing this aswell today. I'm using a jack lelane power juicer to juice my fruits. Does this help in losing weight?

Re: Juice Fasting

I wouldn't even bother. I did it for a full month. Ate no food, only liquids like coffee, juice, teas, diet soda. And I lost about 25 lbs in a months time. I got down to about 115 lbs. But right after, I had gained back more than I started with I went up to almost 145 lbs. Has anyone else heard of this happening with fasting?

Re: Juice Fasting

I started it yesterday but I can not do it. My stomache hurts really bad and I just constantly feel hungry and nauseated.

Re: Juice Fasting

Yes I have read about this happening after fasting you have to slowing reintroduce solid foods to your body but if you go back to eating the way u used to then you gain your weight back real fast Not sure if it is true or not but I have read it.

Re: Juice Fasting

Yeah just drink juice made from a juicer. I tried it but I could not do it. I was so hungry even after drinking juice, water, etc.

It might work for other people but I tried and it did not work for me.

Yes it does but if you do not reintroduce your body to solid foods slowly after fasting you can gain all the weight back.

I tried it but it was just not for me. I stayed with hunger, nauseated.

Re: Juice Fasting

Fasting often does lead to weight gain, especially if it's a long-term fast. You're not getting enough protein, so you're going to lose muscle and slow your metabolism. I think extreme diets are a waste of time. Anything that leads to fast weight loss usually ends up causing rapid weight gain.

Re: Juice Fasting

I've done the Fasting twice at a Health Spa for the purpose of losing weight and it doesn't work. Both times I lost 18lbs in one week on a water fast and gained it back in a short period of time. The real purpose of Fasting is to remove poisons and toxins from the body. You need a sensible Calorie plan that will allow you to gradually lose the weight. Ex: if you require 2800 calories to maintain your weight then you should drop it to 1800 a day. This should be enough to maintain enough energy to get you through the day without feeling hungry and weak. Fasting and Crash Diets don't work.

Re: Juice Fasting

Hi.

Fasting worked for me and the weight stayed off
I was fasting all week for a month or 2 but i did sneak a pice of bread now and again lol.
I was 14 stone and im now 12....i eat rubbish now too....
I know if i eeat too much crap i will withold the next day ...so i am in a cycle of eating a lot then cutting down. It works to keep at a stable weight but i have 4 stone to lose yet and its so hard lol.
I was on adipex retard capsules 15mg and i couldnt eat at all i felt sick even looking at food.on them though i didnt have any energy at all so i stopped them .
I have terrible moods and i am grumpy on a fast but its worth it as you do feel great at some points. but its not good as it can lead to an eating disorder so i wouldnt reccomend it unless you are extremley unhappy.

oh well back to fasting soon lol
