Meat only

Hey Everyone,

I am doing a low carb diet...and have been eating mostly meat. I was raised as a big meat eater and just wanted some input on what you all thought about that.

I know there are vegetarians out there but what about only meat eaters? I do eat veggies sometimes..but primarily chicken.

What would be good for me to take to make sure I get all my supplements? What is the best vitamin?

I think a person needs to eat at least a few servings of veggies each day.

I take Centrum Performance, which contains 32 vitamins and minerals, including Ginko Biloba and Ginseng. It also contains 300% values for the B vitamins, which are important for energy.

Re: Meat only

There are a lot of different vitamins out there but they also need certain combinations to absorb correctly. There are hundreds of books on the subject or ask the person at the health food store when purchasing them. Overall, the best way to consume your vitamins is through a good balanced diet.

If you are a female, you need to get some vitamins in you to keep you healthy throughout your life span. I personally take a pre-natal vitamin I purchase at any drug store. I asked my doctor how I can be certain that I am getting enough nutrients/vitamins (since my diets are sometimes restrictive – depending which one I am trying that day/week/month). He recommended that I take a generic, over the counter pre-natal. Since I have been taking it, about 7 months, I feel better and my skin, hair, and nails are looking great. Hope this helps, CC

Re: Meat only

Hi Sinnrah hope u are doing great!
about the low carb diets, I think is not a matter of being vegetarian or not, but actually realising that most everything has carbs and unless you plan to stay on that same kind of diet the rest of your life, I guess it will work perfectly but the truth is there is nothing better than a balance diet, and portion. I being learning this along the way since I have always looked for a miracle pill, but there isn't an easy way.
best wishes and keep the good work.

Re: Meat only

Since you are basically doing an Atkins diet, it might be a good idea to see one of his books to see the vitamins and supplements he recommends (and he recommends quite a few). Just eating meat there will be a number of vitamins and minerals lacking in your diet, so you need to pay attention.
