6000 calories in one day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the past few months I've been eating really healthy counting my calories (1200-1400 a day) and excercising 6 days a week. I've lost 15 lbs so far, yay! Well back to the point....

One weekend a month I let myself eat whatever I want and I don't count the calories. Basically I pig out on EVERYTHING!

Well I couldn't help it, so today (my last day of the pig-out weekend) I decided to count how many calories I ate.
6000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't even know I could eat that much.
Wow, 3 days (Friday,Saturday,Sunday) times 6000 is 18000 calories!
That's over 5 pounds!!!!!!!!!
Yuck. I can't beleive I ate that much.

No more once a month pig out sessions for me! I'm just so shocked. You'd think eating an average of 1300 calories a day I wouldn't eat that much. Yikes, yikes, yikes!

Well I don't know what the point of this post was. I felt the need to share.
Has anyone else had pigging out sessions?
[This message has been edited by AmyJay (edited 03-11-2001).]

well i do that too sometimes, but dont worry if u weigh 5 pounds heavier the next day its mostly water, you will lose it again as soon as you get backj on track.wat i do is the day after i pig out,i dont eat carbs,i use the high fat high protein diet,by the time my body is laying down the junk food as fat ,im already burning it the next day.no carbs means no insulin, means that my body is a fat burning machine.i have to pig out, then wat would be the fun in life,i do it once every two weeks for one day only though

AmyJay,

The last thing you want to do is deprive yourself of foods you love, that's how you can get into trouble with the 6000 calories. My suggestion: if you feel like a cookie, eat ONE. Calculate your calorie intake to fit it in. You can still eat foods you love and lose weight, just don't pig out on it. Good luck!

Re: 6000 calories in one day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well moving 240 pounds around burns a lot of calories, and I was living a fairly active lifestyle even before I began dieting (digging fence post holes or stringing bob wire in the Texas heat will definitely burn a lot of cals).

But some people just have slower metabolisms too. My sister is several hundred pounds over weight and she doesn't eat more than a couple thousand calories a day.

good luck, and believe me, you're not going to believe how much better you'll feel when you see that scale hit 199 for the first time in (how many?) years

One drawback though now, whenever I'm trying to lever something heavy I frequently wind up forgetting how light I am and lifting myself instead of the intended object.
