Does anyone have any information on the 30-40-30 diet? It's a balance of protein, carbs, and fat. The Zone diet is based on this model, but I don't want to follow it because of the odd concepts and too low calorie content. I've heard that many athletes have done well with a banlance of 30% protein, 40% carbs, and 30% fat. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm looking for some advice, maybe some good books, cooksbooks, or websites. Thanks! BTW, you can email me at [removed] if you'd like. I'd appreciate it very much.

My brother and sister-in-law have had much sucess with this. I have never tried it personally, because I am a FIRM believer in "all things in moderation". The basic food pyramid (moderation) has worked for a hundred years, and only in the last 20 did the general population become so overweight - i.e. when we started trying to control weight w/ restricting certain food groups etc. (Sorry I am on a tangent now)

Sooooo....yes it can work! The big question is can you stick with that type of eating plan the rest of your life? If you can - GO FOR IT!
