Ready to Lose

Hi everyone! I posted here before when I was pregnant. Well, on April 24, my beautiful baby girl, Elisa was born. Now I am ready to lose weight. I already lost my pregnacy weight and now I have about 16 more pounds to go. I currently weigh 146 and I am 5'3. I want to get down to 125-130. I have been exercising at least 3 times a week or more but I haven't been eating the greatest. I am either always busy taking care of the baby or I am just too lazy to fix anything to eat so I have only been eating about once a day which I know is not helping me any in the long run even though I am losing now. I know to lose I need to be eating small healthy meals about 5 times a day because that's how I've lost before but I am just not there yet so I am ready for all the support I can get!!! I am not interested in taking any diet pills or quick fixes, I just want to do this the old-fashioned way!!! Thanks!!

Here's what works for me:

A moderately high protein, low simple sugar/moderate complex carbs, and low fat diet. I eat most of my carbs before noon.

I do 25 mins. of cardio 4-5 days a week IN THE MORNING (you'll burn much more fat if you exercise before breakfast), and I take a 2.5 mile walk (50 mins. of walking) either every night or morning. I do exercises such as jumping jacks (sounds easy but after a minute or so you'll begin to feel it), push-ups, sit-ups, and other "home-based" type of exercising.

I take Centrum Performance as well as additional levels of Vitamin E & C, B vitamins and Selenium.

One day a week I allow myself to eat whatever I want, but mostly I just eat my normal diet and "cheat" on dinner -- usually chinese food.

That's what has worked for me. I've lost 17 pounds in about 10 weeks, which is about right -- the body can only metabolize a pound or two of fat per week. I probably could have lost a little more weight, but for a while I began eating too much pasta and rice and it slowed down the rate of fat loss.
