Sudden sweet tooth, weight gain, slowed metabolism

Hey all -

I'm a 19 year old female. I've had some problems with disordered eating, which I believe may have ruined my once amazing metabolism. I've had some issues with binge eating and then restricting, as well as abusing ADD medication and becoming very thin. I have quit those medications for over a year now, but my body still feels the effects I think.

I used to be pretty much a rail. Now I have gained weight, my legs and thighs are bigger, my bottom has more fat, even my arms. It seems that while I used to be able to eat a normal diet plus some snacks, now even if I eat ultra healthy (tons of fruits and veggies, balanced meals), it doesn't make a difference, I keep gaining or stay the same.

My sweet tooth suddenly came about nearly two years ago, as did my major eating problems. I used to hate sweets, but now I must do everything in my power to not eat tons of sweets.

Is it possible I could have a thyroid problem or some other health problem? This is really strange for me to see my body look so unfamiliar.
