Hi all!
I have a question about abnormal pap smears. I am 27 years old and had an abnormal pap smear around 20/21 years old, which is also right before I was diagnosed with Endometriosis. I did have a biopsy done as a result of the abnormal pap and was instructed to have a repeat pap every year. However, they found nothing wrong with me and I haven't had an abnormal pap since that point, until now. I should add that I had surgery to remove the Endo in 2011 (after the abnormal pap was found) and I know it is back. Does anyone know if Endo can cause abnormal cells on the cervix and cause an abnormal pap? Or what else it could be - besides HPV/warts? I'm in a monogamous relationship and had the HPV shots at 18, so I don't really think those could be the possible causes. Now I'm scheduled for a Colposcopy and am curious if anyone else with similar problems has been through this.
Or if anyone wants to share their story of an abnormal pap and their results, I'd be happy to read it

p.s. I also have a large cyst on one ovary at the moment, which was most likely there at the time of the pap. Not sure if this could also contribute?
