    Red face Breast lump/cyst

I have a cyst on my right side of breast. Yes you can see it very well. It's the size of 6mm. Well also on that breast I also have a 7.5mm and 6.3 mm cyst. That being said my primary doctor keeps telling me a cyst is a cyst and nothing more. I'm about to cut this thing out because the burning hurts so bad. Anyone else ever have this problem before?

Hi there. Whatever you do, do NOT cut it out. You said your primary doctor keeps saying.....has your GYN seen it? Has it been imaged? A mammogram or an ultrasound?

This needs to be seen by a specialist and not your primary doctor just to rule out anything else. Please see your gyn and if you do not have one, find one and get it looked at.

Yes, the mri has shown them to grow over 3mm in 9 months. I also have dense breast and pharmaceutical enchantment on both breast. Which I know puts me at a higher risk of breast cancer plus my mother died at 55 with breast cancer. She is a obgyn but not worth my time. This thing is growing and burns and hurts.

Why aren't they removing it then? Ive had tiny little 2 and 3 mm cysts which they have removed....also, they need to know - is it a simple cyst or a complex cyst? If it is a simple one, it can probably be drained ..if it is a complex one, it needs to come out and be biopsied.

Do you ingest caffeine? If so,stop now. It is a known cause of pain from these cysts. I got off caffeine and all pain went away.

    Hi greatmomoftexas,

Please see a Dermatologist. Cysts can be removed quite easily. Antibiotics and injections of a corticosteroid will clear the infection as well as decrease the size, but if not removed a cyst will usually flare up again. The decrease in size and clearing up the infection will be needed before removal can be done. Removal is done in the office with a local (injections to numb the area around the cyst)

Cysts are typically benign but it will be biopsied after removal.
