    bleeding after orgasming

Has this ever happened to anyone? For the last while, almost every time I have an orgasm (during sex or on my own) I bleed or spot afterward.
I have an appointment with my gyn, but wanted to know if this is something to be really nervous about or its just my body changing or something (I am just about 40, so maybe perimenopause or something?)

COuld be peri. The lining can dry out causing this.. Birth control or estrogen cream are both good for this.

It very well could be peri, but it can also be a symptom of different cancers or HPV. I was having some bleeding after sex myself a year ago and it scared the heck out of me...it turned out that I had some cervical cancer going on....nothing to be really alarmed about- it was taken care of with a LEEP procedure, but it was the scariest thing in the world to hear. Now I have to have colposcopies every year and will probably need additional surgery if anything reappears.

I didn't want to scare you, but the good news is if you catch it really early, its curable! On the other hand it could simply be that your uterine lining is thinning and some estrogen cream or HRT could be the answer. Since you are going to your gyn soon- you have plenty to ask about.
