Question consequences of untreated chronic yeast infection?

I think I've had a yeast infection pretty continuously for at least several years. I've been prescribed anti-fungals twice, and it seems to go away and then come back. It's hard to say whether it actually goes away because my symptoms are not disruptive to me. The only symptom I really experience is a mild yeasty odor, but honestly I don't really care about that. My doctor looked at a sample under the microscope and was shocked by how much of the yeast fragment things there were, had never seen so much before. She didn't understand why I don't experience any of the other yeast infection symptoms like itching or discomfort.

If I just allow myself to have a yeast infection continuously, are there any consequences other than the symptoms of the yeast infection itself (the mild odor)? infertility? etc?

I'm not really sure why it's been around so long. Relevant medications include Loryna. I eat a balanced diet. I also have eczema, possibly rosascea and recurring styes.

If you're having sex and your partner hasn't been che ked....time to do so.

Estrogen can drive yeast I believe. Have you had stool samples done as well....check for yeast.
I also suggest getting the vaginal swab yeast cultured. If your doc hasn't done so....request it.

There are probiotics for women who have yeast....have you used them?
Have you been on an oral longer term antifungal?

It's all a matter of perspective!
