Does anyone ever get cold...then warm...the your whole body is cold, etc...? I had all the blankets and covers on last night, and I woke up freezing! I even had the electric blanket on 3 (out of 10) and I couldn't figure out why I woke up freezing. Then about 3 hours later, I was hot! I am on birth control pills and too young to be going through menopause! Any other ideas? Anyone go through this?

Lily, you don't state your age. Menopause can come as early as your late 20's. There is a board on here about menopause. Many of the women on there are in their early 30's and going through menopause. I am 29 and my doctor feels that I am going through it. Menopause has many symptoms. The night sweats when you wake up soaked from sweat and yet your cold is definitely one of them. Alot of the symptoms are similar to PMS: bloating, irritability. Even if your periods are regular, the hot flashes could be your first sign. Some women are forgetful and have trouble concentrating during this too. Good luck!!

I'm over 35 but younger than 45! I don't really wake up "soaked" except for one time my neck and chest were pretty drenched, but that doesn't happen all the time. I do take birth control pills and I let myself have a period every 3 months. (My doctor said that I really don't need to have a period since I plan on no more children).

At 35 it certainly is a good possibility that you may be starting to experience a bit of menopause. You may only have one sign at a time and this could just be one sign. Also another possibility would be to consider thyroid problems. When was the last time your doc checked those levels? If it has been a while you may want to ask your doc to check you thyroid levels as well as your hormone levels just to see what is going on. I have poor circulation so am often cold but when I started getting night sweats I knew it was most likely an early sign of menopause. At that time it was the only symptom I had so don't be mislead into thinking you need to have more than one symptom to be starting menopause.
