Unhappy HELP! Unusual menstral cycle +HCG

I need help figuring out what is happening to my cycles... Five months ago I was dx with an ovarian cyst and put on birth control. After four months, I took myself off BC because of the side effects and my husband and I wanted to get pregnant, but I began re-experiencing some of the same cyst symptoms I had before (carmping, bloating, constipation, increased discharge between periods). An ultrasound revealed the cyst was gone but also that my lining was thick in my uterus. I was also 3 days late on my cycle (due 8/3) at that point. I was given a pregnancy test with negative results.

Later in the day I took 2 First Response Early Pregnancy Tests which came out positive (but the line was bearly there). Since then (8/6/03) I have taken 6 more with bearly positive results and 3 with negative results (not particular to a time of day). I began spotting yesterday (brown) and today have bright red clots that pass ONLY when I urinate (but it is menstral material). I am still bloated and experiencing cramps but all the recent preg tests (same brand) have negative results.

Any ideas on what is going on or anyone had similiar experience?????

Thanks for your help

Hi. My guess is that you are pregnant. If there is a line there, no matter how faint, it is supposed to mean a positive result.
If the line is faint it just means that the level of HCG is low... i.e. you are very early in your pregnancy.
The reason for the negatives might be that you tested those later in the day, or after drinking excessive amounts of liquid.

Try the first-morning urine when it is more concentrated and hopefully you get a clear result.

Good Luck.

Oh. But I have no idea what the blood could mean.
Have you had a lot of cramping?

Good Luck, again.

It sounds like you may be pregnant, but things don't sound like they are going well. Of course, please don't jump to conclusions until a doctor confirms this. You need to have another blood test done. I've had several ectopics where my blood tests would show negative, but I would get positive results on OTC tests. I never understood why. Please go back to your doctor and let them know what's going on so they can recheck you with an u/s and lab work. Take care and please keep us posted!!!
