    Re: Bacterial Vaginitis - BV

    I have BV that comes back frequently. I used to think that it could be my husband reinfecting me, but I do not believe that now. Our bodies are out of balance, we do not have enough of the good bacteria where it is needed. My doctor said once vagina gets out of balance it can take awhile to get back in balance. He has put me on boric acid suppostories twice a week to see if that helps. He also prescribe a new medicine for BV which is called Clindesse. It is a cream that is inserted just for one night. Has anyone else out there tried this? I am hoping this will work this time. The drug store had to order it because no one has requested it before. I will keep my fingers crossed.

    I have been a suffering from both BV and yeast. I went to my GYN last July 2004 and she noted it and treated me, however, she claims the microscope declared to BV or yeast so she referred me to who I thought was a specialist and I visited him for several months he too could not find either so he prescribed disparimine to shock the nerves and stop the itch--no results. Finally I decided to see a GYN I had 3 years ago she was on call for my regular GYN and boom she found the yeast and BV in 5 minutes. Talk about stressed. She prescribed Clindesse and Diflucan so I am praying and waiting for cure. She is sending me to a specialist (a real one) to biopsy the skin of the vagina because I have two openings. She thinks it may be from itching too much but wants to double check. Thank God an answer but I have suffered for a year untreated and obviosly misdiagnosed. {removed}

    Purchase Acidophilus soft gels. Use two every night for about a week or if symptoms return. Cut a tiny whole in one with scissors or puncture with a knife. (Scissors or knife should be clean/sterilized.) Squeeze the oil out and rub on external area. With the other one squeeze the oil onto a clean finger and insert internally.

    Also you can treat your partner with these, but it will take more than two of the soft gels. Or treat him with baking soda and warm water, or sugar free plain yogurt (applied externally).

    To keep yeast infections or BV from returning only use unscented organic tampons and pads. Change them often and do not use when you donít need them. Keep the area dry (donít stay in wet clothes, or wear soaked pads, etc.). Only wear 100% cotton underwear. Also wash them in unscented detergent with no fabric softener and no bleach. Do not wear them or any bottoms at night when possible.

    Use fragrance free soap or cleanser. Do not wash more than necessary.

    Also follow a low or no sugar diet.

    Hi there - may I ask if you were replying to my post? I hope so :-) I don't want to follow the suggestion if it was meant for someone else - haha. Thank you so much if it was meant for me. Have a terrific 4th of July :-)
