endometrious (sp?)

My friend is having surgery on Monday to check for endo. They're using a laproscropy (sp?) and said they'll try and fix whatever they find to be causing the pain. She's really scared because shes never had surgery before. Anyone familiar with this that would like to give some advice?

Just so you know, the spelling is endometriosis. That might help you navigate the web a little better. And, if you post your question under women's health, you will find a lot of women who have had laparoscopies to diagnose and remove endo. The sad thing you will learn is that it can grow back, but it often does help for a while. You can do a search for endo and lap or the full words and you will find a lot of older posts.

You are a great friend for taking such an interest. Your friend will need some pampering after the surgery - someone to drive her places, some videos or DVD's and some meals that she doesn't have to cook for herself.

Re: endometrious (sp?)

I would definitely search the internet using the full name of the procedure. This is due to the fact that there is a laparoscopy and another surgery referred to as laparotomy. A laparotomy is usually the one which is referred to as lap in my experience and is far more major surgery than the laparoscopy.
