    Embarrassing question about breasts

I don't even know if this is normal, but anyway, I have a few hairs around the areolas of my breasts. It's not much, but I'd like to remove it. Does anybody know a safe way? I was thinking about using a cream like Veet. Would that be okay or should I wax?

The hair is normal. I vote for the wax (yikies! anyone else holding theirs?? ) 'cause over time, the hairs will grow in softer and less noticable.

I have a few hairs there also. I just use a tweezer on them - not enough to bother with wax.

Same here... I just use a tweezer... it's actually a lot less painful to pull them out than tweezing my eyebrows.

Yep, tweezing is the way to go. DreamFairy's right; plucking eyebrows hurts more than plucking nipples.

    Yowch!!
Hot shower (to soften hair follicles) then tweeze. Stay away from that wax!

I used to tweeze the few that i had, then they multiplied and even tripled and then resulted in ingrowns. I next tried electrolysis, which got rid of them for good.

I have them, too. I think lots of women do, though they might not admit it. I tweeze mine. I have been for years, but they keep coming back.

How long ago did you have the electrolysis done? Will they really stay gone forever?

    Re: Embarrassing question about breasts

From memory i'd say i had mine done approx 3 years ago. The more you tweeze and the stronger the hairs get and the more they multiply the longer it takes to get rid of them for good. I got rid of most of mine in roughly 3 or so visits, but a few hairs which were more difficult to kill off did grow back, but after a few more zaps they too went.

Electrolysis works best when it's done during the hair's regrowth phase. It may sting a little, but when you realise it's permanent, then the slight pain is worth it. My husband never understood why i bothered, but i guess i thought i was in a minority and wanted to be like everybody else.

From speaking to a beautician, the only people who possibly can't ever get rid of hair problems are those who get hair growth in unusual areas due to hormone problems (i think some women with pcos experience this), but if your hair problem is due to genes, ethnic background, you messing with the hair in the first place, then electrolysis works.

    Re: Embarrassing question about breasts

I used tweezers on mine and after doing so for a couple years mine are all but completely gone. I never had trouble with them multipling or becoming stronger. I did get a couple ingrowns but nothing I could deal with.

No NO NO...never tweezer them!!! That can damage the area.!!! I read that you should use small sissors and cut them but NEVER tweeze them!

    eh?

Pointy scissors next to my nipples is better than tweezers?

I tweeze my eyebrows and have been tweezing around my areolas for about a decade now. I've not noticed any damage.

I've been tweezing for many years and never had a problem ........they definatly didn't come in thicker or multiply and I never lost any sensations in the nipple area at all .By the way my huband has never had a clue I get the occasional hair there and never will ..... some secrets have to be kept from men right ????That and my weight ...121 ofcourse (yeah right ) are my only secrets from him .
