    "Mini period"

I'm 18 and I had my period 2 weeks ago. Since Monday, I've noticed I've been spotting (light vaginal bleeding) lately. At times I get very small, slight cramps. It feels like a "mini period." Is this normal? This is the first time something like this has happened to me.

Some women spot/cramp when they ovulate, but that should only last a few hours, not days - so I doubt that's what's going on.

    Could you be pregnant?

How old were you when you started your periods?

I've had my period since I was 11.

And no, I can't be pregant. That I know for sure.

It's just weird... gah. It's driving me insane.

Are you on the pill? Sometimes that will make you spot and cramp if the dose isn't strong enough for you.

Have you been regular like clockwork when not on the pill? Have you been investigated for polycystic ovary disease? It's a condition that causes you have missed periods, sometimes for months; or very short periods; or hugely heavy, extended flow periods; or no periods at all, due to cysts that grow on your ovaries and topsy turvy hormone balances.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it if it's only a one time thing. However, if you are very irregular and have frequent periods and periods in between periods, or extended heavy flow ones, I would suggested getting examined by a OBGYN.
