Lump feeling in Vagina

I went to my GYN today. For the past days ihave this feeling at the opening of my vagina that feels like a lump inside. The NP examed me and said she could find nothing. I was worried it was prolapse but she assured me all my pelvic organs are in the right place. She sent me home with antibotics for a UTI and Zelmorn. She felt this feeling i am experiencing is from constipation. I find this hard to beleive but on the other hand if my organs had dropped she would have felt or seen them in the internal and external exam. Has anyone ever experienced what i described? I would like to hear from you if you have. I can still feel this lump type feeling esp when i walk.

Re: Lump feeling in Vagina

Hi yep I am going through this now. Is the bulge at the front or back of your vagina?
I have both. (nice huh) Just wnet to the dr yesterday.
The rectocele (rectum prolpase) pops into the backside of the vagina, specially when straining, having a BM.
When laying down things are more relaxed, go back into perhaps the dr is not really feeling it? When your dr did the exam, it was vaginal & rectal internal, have you cough?
The bulge I had near the front entrance of the vagina was actually my vaginal vault (canal?) falling down...the pessary is to hold it up for awhile, then surgery. The uterus &/or bladder can prolapse too, is that what you're thinking it is?

Email me anytime.

Re: Lump feeling in Vagina

I have had both rectecele and cyctcele and it is easiest to find if you get into a squatting position. You can have your husband or mate look, or look into a mirror. My prolapse was not caught because it pretty much laid out of the way when I was lying down. One night, 2 weeks after my pap smear, I squatted in the tub to rinse off and felt something buldging out of the vagina. I was terrifed needless to say, but went to the doc and he said I had a pretty severe pelvic prolapse. I had a hysterectomy and prolapse repairs in August 2005. Well, I had a car wreck in March and somehow the wreck caused my sling to tear into the uretha and I once again have a fallen bladder. I will have the sling removed July 10 and hopefully have another one put into place soon after that. Tracy
