Exclamation yeast infection cause cuts???

My question is can a yeast infection get you so irritated down there that the skin splits open? I have just done the 7 day monistat and now the 1 day mega pack with very minimal relief. I am on fire . It was so bad the other night that I almost went to the emergency room. I like so many of you ladies have reccurrent infections. I think I need to go to the doc today though...I take blood thinners for blood clots so these cuts (there are about 5 of them) are bleeding. I also started spotting about 4 days ago but never got my period. Very wierd.
Thanks for reading just wanted to know if anyone else gets the cuts and tears...also wanted to say it is not from itching....I don't itch because I am afraid I will get a bleed from the blood thinners.

any replies are great!!!

Re: yeast infection cause cuts???

I know that no one had any replies for me but I thought I would leave a update just in case there are more women out there that might have this same issue.
I went to the doctor today and found out that I have a yeast infection, and BV. He told me that the cuts are only seen this severe in cases like this. He has a strep culture being sent out on the cuts to make sure they are not infected but they also said that I am alergic (s/p) to monistat. My vagina was so red and inflamed that they couldn't even get the speculum in. The doc told me not to do topical cremes. He gave me 1 Diflucan now along with Metro (oral tabs) 3x daily for 7 days and then another Diflucan to take after the Metro is gone. Then I have to go back in for a pap and pelvic to see if there is anything abnormal that could be contributing to this.

Sorry for what your going through. It sounds very painful. I have had BV once and yeast a few times but not together at once. I have felt like I had little paper cuts from a yeast infection before but your case sounds much worse. I hope you can get better soon!

I was just reading this and was going to mention BV until I read the update. Do try a bar of tea tree oil soap if it doesn't cause you any irritation and see if it might help you to keep any further infections away. Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and antifungal so it helps with both BV and yeast infection.

Re: yeast infection cause cuts???

thanks for your reply. I was actually just reading the same thing and I think that I am goign to try that the next time and maybe it will help it from getting to the point of causing the cuts and tears. Thanks again
