    Unhappy Chronic Pelvic Pain

Hi. New to this forum. Just wondering if anyone out there has suffered from this? I was given a deprovera shot on aug 06 and bled everyday up until Feb 07; also had severe cramping. Jan 07 I had a laproscopy and endo was found and burned off. I have had severe pain since the surgery. Was put on hydrocodone and other meds and developed ibs. Had a colonoscopy which confirmed the ibs but was not contributing to the pelvic pain. Was then sent to a urologist for a cystoscopy and results were negative for cystitis. Finally went to a specialist today who believes I have muscular skeletal probelms. I have seen 6 doctors and most think that it's all in my head or that I'm just seeking drugs. I'm so frustated and just wanted to see if anyone else has gone through this before.

    Thanks for listening.

    Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain

Wow... It is crazy but every single thing that you have said minus the skeletal problem is everything that has been done to me. I have searched and searched for an answer to my problems. I have severe IBS but opposite I get constipated, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, and was sent to a urologist because they felt i had IC but after the procedure they saw i didnt. I STILL HAVE NO ANSWERS. I am suffering and Im sure u r 2. I am starting the lupron shot in june in hopes that it will do something for my chronic pelvic pain. I hope you find comfort in knowing your not the only one.. I def. did thank you

    Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain

I don't know if yours is similar to this, but I've been having pain on and off for 17 months. First it lasted 3 months straight, pain, pressure and burning in my right abdomen, flank and lower back, and pelvic area. The pain goes as low as my leg almost and up as high as under my ribs. I've seen several GPs who have told me everything from it's anxiety, IBS, kidney stones to there's nothing wrong with me and go home and enjoy my life. I've refused pain pills and antidepressents.

I went to the OB-GYN who said my right ovary felt full, which I Guess is not alarming, and sent me for a pelvic U/S, which they said was normal (even though there was a cyst present on my ovary). In Sept I went to the ER and had a CTscan, which I was told by the ER doc. it was normal. I followed up with a NEW OB-GYN, who told me my CTscan was normal, and it could be endometriosis, but they don't do lap surgery to determine that anymore (which I know isn't true), so he put me on the pill. He told me if the pill helped it was endo. Well, the pill made me gain weight, gave me a headache and I felt like crud all the time, as well as nauseated a lot. I quit that, and the pain became less frequent. The longest it's lasted was 3 months straight, the longest I've been without pain is about 2 months straight. A lot of times it hurts only a day or two, but sometimes a week or two.

I went to a rheumatologist a month ago thinking I might have chronic myofascial pain, which she did diagnose me with. BUt as she was looking through my record it showed that in my CTscan I had last Sept, my right ovary was 4.2 cm. larger than my left. That DOESN'T sound normal to me!!! That and the fact that in June I was told my right ovary felt full, and in July my right ovary showed a cyst on it. I now have switched OB-GYN docs, and have an apt with my new one on MOnday, at which time I'm going to make him tell me how it's normal for one ovary to be TWICE the size of the other, when I am in pain frequently. I want them to do the lap to see what is going on, not just throw another pill at me!!!!!!

    Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain

I too have pelvic pain i don't know what it is I had a baby and it got worse i was in a car accident and fractured my pelvis (when i was pregnant) my orthropedic doctor said i would feel my hips getting flimsy do to my pevis opening to allow my baby to pass. when i was in my accident the doctors who preformed my sugerys said i wouldnt be able to have my son naturally. but both my ob/gyn and orthropedic said i could, may i say that was the most painful 24 hours of my life not even the epadoral worked, i then had to have a c-section anyway. after that i had exrteme burning pains in my pelvis, that subsided, and had sharp pains, with some burnig pain in my pelvis. it still hurts now as i type. i go to see my orthropedic soon, I get xrays hopefully i have answers i cant even hold my son that long.
