Well, I have been to the GYN repeatedly due to a fishy odor and on several occasions I was treated for BV. The past three times I have been to the GYN in regards to odor...there was nothing wrong, and my PH balance was normal. I wash with Ivory soap (reccomended by th GYN); it's a very mild soap and I only wash the exterior of the genitals not the interior. I do not douche and I do not take baths (just showers). I have stopped wearing thongs on a regular basis and I have protected intercourse with my partner. I have tried Rephresh to balance my PH and it does not seem to work, still I have the odor. What is my problem?? Can it be normal to have a fishy odor? I don't understand why my doctor does not find anything wrong? Should I get a second opinion? Any help or suggestions is appreciated!

Re: Vaginal Health...HELP!!
I would seriously get a second opinion, IF it is normal, I was told sometimes a fishy odor can be caused by sweating down there. I have also read (on here) that it is common if u eat seafood, to have a fishy odor too. I use Rephesh, and Acidillious daily,But I had BV for 2 years. I wish you the best of luck.

Re: Vaginal Health...HELP!!
I have had the same experience off and on throughout my adult life and a gynecologist once told me I have "a little too much flora in my fauna." (I thought that was cute). Basically, it's just a slight imbalance of good bacteria vs the bad, which for some women is the "norm." If you have no other negative symptoms, I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it's overpowering.

P.S. I have actually found Ivory soap to exacerbate the odor. Try a ph balanced soap like Phisoderm and see if that helps and maybe even make a change to your laundry soap? Sometimes it's a small thing that can cause these issues.
