Red face Feminine hygeine problem

Okay so i know that having odor down there is normal but i feel mine is kinda strong, and its not a fishy smell, its just i guess that normal vaginal odor, but sometimes i feel really self conscious about it. Sometimes if ive been sitting down for a long time i feel it becomes even stronger, and i feel who ever is with me can smell it. (not that anybody has ever told me anything) is this really normal can anybody give some advice to try to have no odor down there, i sometimes also feel i get really moist down there. Is there anything i can do about it?????????

Re: Feminine hygeine problem

Wait till you are pregnant, or if you have ever been- the odor changes and does NOT go away while preg.! No matter what you do.I hate it!!

But for the normal vaginal smell, I use pantiliners and change them a couple times a day. Warm baths and a mild cleanser like summer's eve or massingill to wash w/ daily should help. Dove is good too.

You could try filling a small squirt bottle w/ warm water and rince the area when you feel not so fresh. And the take along wipes is a great idea too!

If you suspect the odor is more than what is normal you need to be seen by a doctor. You could have any number of vaginal infections that may or may not cause other symptoms. Just to be on the safe side get checked.

Using things with deodorants or scents in them on the vaginal area can cause something that is a problem already to get worse. It's best to ALWAYS use scent free tampons, pads, cleaners, etc.
I'm on SSDI with 3 kids, a great man, and several dogs and cats. I have a myriad of pain causing medical problems.

Having an abnormal fowl smell is a very common symptom of Bacterial Vaganosis. Ask your doctor about this and with a simple pelvic exam they can usually tell you right away if you have it or not.
