Chronic Pelvic Pain and No Resolution

I'm hoping you all can provide me with some advice. I have been experiencing pelvic pain for over a year. The pain isn't partial to one side, it is on the left and right, sometimes at the same time, sometimes only left or only right. The pain isnít everyday but happens for a few days at a time, several times per month. When it does hurt, the pain intensifies when I cough, blow my nose, stand up or sit down, urinate or have a bowel movement, and it hurts after intercourse. Along with this, I am nauseated more days of the month than not but I've never thrown up.

I discussed this with my GYN last year and she did a Potassium Test through a catheter for Interstitial Cystitis. This led her to believe I did have IC, however, I donít have any of the symptoms of IC such as urgency or frequency, other than pelvic pain and I don't feel like the pain centers around my bladder.

I recently had a pelvic ultrasound to look for ovarian cysts and that came back normal. Iím very concerned about the pain. I have thought about getting a second opinion, but I also worry that I may be being overreacting.

I really appreciate any advice you could lend.

Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain and No Resolution

I have dealt with "unexplained" pelvic pain...mine was endo. They also tried the IBS theory but it ended up all endo. I had over $35K in tests and about 20 Dr's, in pain for 2 yrs.

Finally on the Lupron shot, it tricks my body into menopause...found relief.

I would suggest save some time and test and get a diagnostic lap. Let the Dr see what is going on in there. It is very minimal pain and time off work. Read up on endo it really shows pain in many forms. Mine was back pain, left groin pain and sitting along with bad PMS.

I hope you find some answers. If I learned anything be pushy get what you need from these Dr's....answers!
