Question Went to GYN for what I thought was endometrial biopsy

Hi everyone I went to gyn for endometrial biopsy but she did not do one. I took Cytotec 2 days prior which worked in ripening my cervix and she was able to get in after 20 minutes-she said I have alot of scar tissue and I am stenotic and she feels this is why I have never been able to to conceive. She feels this was caused by infection or it is congenital. Anyway I asked if she was going to do endometrial biopsy twice while she was probing in there and she said no she was not. She kept trying to open my cervix which she was thrilled she did but she also said it continues to close and I would need to do something with a specialist to keep it open. When she got in I asked if she was going to do an endometrial biopsy again and she asked her assistant for the results of my endocervix biopsy she did last week and they were benign so she said no she was not going to do endometrial biopsy. Which confused me because this is what she said she would do to find out why I have been spotting lightly a few days before my period is due which was my original reason why went in for and regular sono showed possible tiny polyp. She said it is up to me if I want to do saline sono next week which I am scheduled for and she gave me more cytotec so they can get in hopefully since I am very stenotic. She wants me to follow up with a doctor who specializes in hysteroscopes and with fertility specialist since I am 42 and perimenopausal so I am pressed for time. When I asked why she did not do endometrial biopsy she said she did not want to cut and it would probably be abnormal and give a result of inflammation since I have so much scar tissue-Can I say I am so confused-I just don't get it-I have been worrying about endometrial biopsy for 2 weeks now and she did not do one I feel better because they are finally finding out why I have not gotten preg but still confused as hell. Does any of this make sense to anyone.

Wow Kim. Im soo sorry you are going thru all this! Im glad to hear the Cytotec helped...thought it might...but obviously this isnt what you wanted to hear.
All I can say is, after 5 endometrial biopsies, my GYNs keep saying there is "something" probably a fibroid, but no one can say for SURE because I have so much scar tissue in my endometriosis...mine is self inflicted, from a NovaSure ablation, but never the less, Im in the same boat. I cant tell what is happening to my body and with me, they keep pressuring me to have a Hysterectomy.
The difference is, Im not trying to get pregnant.
I really feel for you. I understand how emotionally and physically painful these tests are, especially when you dont hear what you expect...be strong. The hysterescope was not a bad test...and now that you know the cytotec works, youll be better prepared.
    I wish you well.
    Nikki

Thanks for your response. This is stressful. Dr. recommended I go for a hystero resection (something like that) to get rid of scar tissue and possible polyp/fibroid. My appt is for mid Dec and I have decided to give my self a break from this until then. I need to breathe, read, write, go to the park, anything that involves self care because I am beat!

    hang in there girlfriend!!!
You are right though, sometimes we have to literally back off doctors appointments and give ourselves time to chill out. I know this better then anyone! With my MS and my gyn problems, between blood work (regularly due to my MS meds) MRIs, twice a year, Neuro visits and Gyn visits- sometimes I feel exactly like you describe! When this happens, time to take a month off....even a few weeks. Let us know how it goes mid December...and in the meantime, feel good. ok??
