    can i wear high heels after scoliosis surgery?

    I had scoliosis surgery 3 weeks ago.will i be able to wear high heels when i'm ready,any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thank you! <3

    You might get more responses if you post this on the back board.

    I have had 6 spine surgeries, but haven't had scoliosis surgery. High heels are never a good option for your back whether you've had surgery or not. They can cause and aggrevate foot, ankle, knee, hip and back problems, especially when used regularly. They put abnormal stress on your joints and pose a major fall risk.

    That being said, I certainly understand what wearing heels means to a woman and why you would want to use them. A good option is to compromise and use medium heels (1-2 inches) instead of high heels (3+ inches). They still can cause some problems, but are far safer than high heels. There are also some inserts for heels that make them better on your joints.

    It would be good for you to discuss this with your spine surgeon to get their recommendation.
