Chronic burning pain in cervix
Hi everyone,
I hope someone has answers to a problem that has been disrupting my otherwise normal, happy, life for years.
Over two years ago, I developed a burning pain deep in my vagina. Not sure what the cause was, but the burning stuck around for around 3 months before disappearing on its own one day. At the time I was testing for yeast/STDs/BV/UTI, etc, all coming out negative.
Fast forward about a year - the burning pain came back. Again tested for everything. Again everything came back negative.
Since then, the burning occurrences have occurred probably about 50 times. I've found short-term cures (probiotics orally, probiotics vaginally, yogurt, BV antibiotics) but each seems to lose effectiveness after 1-2 usages. I'm running out of medicines to try.
My doctor diagnosed me with chronic cervicitis which would account for the burning. He says it's most likely caused by a bacterial imbalance. He performed cervical cryotherapy in July 2012 which just made the problem 10x worse. The burning pain came back just a few days after the procedure and since then, it's been on-again-off-again every single week. Every 3-5 days I have a flare up. The flares last at least 2 solid days. It's completely ruining my life.
The ONLY symptoms I've ever had is a burning, stinging pain deep in my vagina (probably the cervix, but I can't ever tell exactly where). No odor that I've noticed. Nothing cyclical with my period. No pre-cancer cells found, and I've had a cystoscopy to check for interstitial cystitis (negative).
Please, please offer insight into what could be causing this awful awful trend!
