birth control effects on estrogen levels

so I have had a few blood tests done in the past month. they show I am low in estrogen, like less than 5 low as well as a few other things. my question is will me being on birth control (introvale) affect my blood results? I was told by one doctor that I need to talk to a specialist and by another that the birth control completely distorted the results making them completely unreliable. while it makes perfect sense to me that being on birth control can affect the count of certain hormones, it doesn't make sense to me how my blood results would come back showing that I basically had no estrogen. can someone explain?

Are you having the blood drawn on the last day of your placebo pills? That's when it should be done so that you get a truer indication of your levels. Done while you are take the active pills will distort the results. That being said, if your estrogen is very low, it could still show up low on testing as the bcp may not add that much. If you are not seeing a gyno, I would see one. They are more conversant in this.
