Breast Cancer...?

Okay, about 2 weeks ago I noticed a tiny bump on my nipple. The very edge where skin meets areola. I picked at it, and it released a small amount of clear fluid, and the next day it was huge. About the size of a nickle. I left it alone, and during the 2 weeks I just kept my eye on it, it became red, the skin surrounding it became flaky, it's larger in some spots, like dimpl-y, very sore, and the skin over it is smooth and shiny. I'm afraid to go to the doctor, because it could just be nothing and I don't wanna waste my time, but I'm also very scared because my family has a history off all sorts of cancers. I just need a second opinion, should I go to the doctors...? Or wait a little while longer?

Re: Breast Cancer...?

Doesn't sound anything Like Breast Cancer at all, but you may have caused yourself an infection by picking at it. Thus it has gotten red and inflamed. Wouldn't you rather get it over with and have the doctor put your mind at ease in minutes? He will most likely give you antibiotics or a cream to clear it up. No you shouldn't wait any longer. It's been two weeks already, how does it look now?
