: : for anyone who saw nbc new which showed new cancer drugs that cured a lukemia case and was helping an advanced lung cancer case, simply by taking one of these pills each day theese were unveiled at this medical conference. the durg company says they are still signing people up for their lung studies. if you call the institutions mentioned in the story, they will tell you where to call to find out more about these drugs, (they are angiogensis drugs) , and possible trials. there is a whole list of cancers they are trying out these drugs on.

: Rosilita
: I saw that also. The drug for leukemia is
: STI571 and the drug for the Lungs is SD1839. I don't know what those means. My sister died Nov. 98, from lung cancer. My brother died in July 99 from Non Hodgking Lymphoma, and now my other sister has NHL. It is so scary. Oh how I wish they could find a cure for this dreadful disease.

ruth, i think the news is interesting. i checked into it for someone who has small cell, and the company says they didn't hava any studies for it, but their is a whole of list including non small cell, breast and i beleive prostate. its pretty neat to think it only involves taking a pill. i don't know the locations of the studies, because i didn't ask, but know i beleive the nci has information on these drugs also. maybe? the wave of the future??did you see the second part of that series on tonight? I know an oncologist who's husband went to the convention, and she dosen't even know what to think of these, interesting though
