Hello, I just found this board, and to be quite honest with you it really scares me. All of my life I have had a sensitive stomach. About two years ago I began having pain on the right side, next to my belly button. Sometimes it radiates to my lower right abdomon. Sometimes it feels tender (especially with a full bladder). At times when I lay down a lump pops up on the right, where the ovary would be. My doctor noticed it during an exam and ordered a vaginal ultrasound, all was normal. I have always had a problem with constipation. I began seeing a gastroenterologist. She ordered an ultrasound and ruled out gallstones, blood tests normal, upper and lower GI's normal (except for some small diverticuli on the right), stool culture showed excessive white blood cells, and am now waiting to have a colonoscopy in Dec. I was told at one point that I had a spastic colon (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). I bought a book on this and was very alarmed to find out that many people are misdiagnosed with IBS when they really have colon or ovarian cancer. I flipped. Now I am convinced that I have one or the other. Ovarian cancer being "the silent killer" totally unnerves me. My symptoms right now are constipation, this ache on the right, sometimes feels like a side ache, sometimes feels like a pinching, my right side at times feels hard. My questions are: what are the common symptoms of colon and ovarian cancers? Are the tests I had pretty good in detecting these cancers (i.e., wouldn't the lower GI have seen colon cancer?) I am 33, with four kids (breastfed them all), no history of cancer whatsoever in my family. Do I have reason to be concerned? I am sorry this is so long, I have had this worry pent up for so long. Please, anyone, help me. Thanks in advance, Janet
