: Jeannie, I was diagnosed with cts about 6 months ago, and that is what everyone was asking me. How did you get it, what kind of repetitive motions do you do? I am not on the keyboard all day, which is what most people expect. If you think about it, though, there are all kinds of things that are repetitve. Most recently for me, last year I spent alot of time cleaning our home and painting it to get it ready to sell. It sold right away, and the newer home we bought also needed cleaned and painted. I can type all day with no trouble, but when I start washing walls or using a spray bottle that I have to squeeze, that is when I have problems. Looking back, alot of my jobs have involved repetitive motions of some sort. I have heard of librarians and musicians getting cts, for example. Another posibility is estrogen. There is a link between hormones and cts. You've probably heard of pregnant women getting it and then having no problems after the baby is born. Of course, some women continue to have problems. It could be your hormones are acting up. I know that estrogen has played a part in my cts. The splints help alot. My neurologist also had me take a 100-150 B-complex, not just the B6. You need the whole thing. That has helped. I also take grape seed extract, which you can find every where now. It has helped, too. Good Luck! Barbara

My son is 8 years old. yes 8 years old and has Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. His is not from repetative use. His is from compression of the nerves from a storage disease he has. He has Hunter Syndrome (MPS II). A lot of the doctors don't believe us parents when we tell them that they have this. They say they are too young. Then we have to educate them on the disorder. We have had serveral that had suregery. Once case said it was the worse he had ever seen even on adults.
