: For 2 weeks I've been wearing splits and drinking anti-inflammatory medicine with my doctor thinking I had CTS. Today I had an EMG in which they test the nerves and their responses... According to him I tested normal, no carpal tunnel, yet I continue with the pain, sometimes it is unbearable. Has this happened to anyone?? If so, what could it be??? Thanks for any info you could give me...

Denise, I was diagnosed with CTS when I started having spasms and tingling in my hand. My doctor did not administer any tests to reach this diagnosis (I've changed physicians since then). I did wear a wrist immobilizer and alternately wear a wrist wrap that contains magnets. Sometimes both hands and arms are affected, mostly it's just the right, my dominate side. ANYWAY, I was also experiencing a burning sensation between the shoulder blades
and visited a chiropractor for the first time. During the first visit he told me he felt that I had a compressed nerve in my shoulder (I had recently injured the shoulder) and this nerve was causing the symptoms. After 5 visits to him my symptoms were releived for several weeks. When the symptoms return I visit him again, although I have an upcoming appointment with a nurologist.
Who knows? I may actually have CTS but it seems strange that a spinal alignment can relieve the symptoms at least temporarily.
Good luck.
