In Reply to: Re: Very Very Mild CP - Ataxic? Walks a bit unsteady at times...falls down more than typical child. posted by Jean on November 03, 2000 at 22:45:34:

my daughter just turned three and is a special gift from God.two inductions, fetal distress, emergency c/s,nasal intubation for 12 hours, apgard of 2 at one minute. I had a full term 8lb 10 oz ,what happened? one year old and tipping over while walking. nickname at this time is Ottis from the andy griffiith show: : This subject interests me. My son is 12, and I can't seem to find anyone to help me with his problems. I've been told by some Dr's that he has mild CP, but others have just said that he is clumsy. I think that it's true that it never gets worse, but I don't think his is getting any better either. As he ages, it becomes more apparent that "something" is not quite right. He didn't walk on his own until 17 months. I am at my wits end. He was in leg braces for a while...I am divorced, and not getting much support from his dad. He wants to pretend that nothing is wrong....Any advice???

: Let me tell you I have a son at 14 still not yet diagnosed. He walked at 13.5 months and fell all the time straight on his head.Never caught himself. He has had multiple problems, and I too cannot get a doctor to tie this in a knot for me...I need this done for school, and other things.Ignore your EX cause you are his mother and you know when your child is just not right..Keep up the good work. I was told a developmental pediatrician would be the one to see. Also a neurologist, if you have not done this yet..GOOD LUCK! JEAN
