: Hello everyone, I wonder if you can help me? My friends 17 year old son is in hospital with pseudomonos infection and bronchiectasis showing up on MRI scan. He is not recovering well and doctors are doing CF workup. At 2 years of age, he had severe pneumonia and bloated belly with evidence of malabsorption. At the time, they said CF test was negative. Has testing improved since then and could it have been a false negative test result? Can you be diagnosed this late? Also, would this mean the disease is of a milder presentation and would he possibly have a longer life expectancy? I am trying to gather information quickly, thank you so much for any help or suggestions of where to look for late diagnosis information. Alissa
