Becky,

I am assuming that the test that you did was
the Alpha-fetal protein blood work that came
back positive for Down Syndrome. My was
positive and, yes, my beautiful 4 year old daughter has Down Syndrome. However, I
have talked to numerous couples over the
last 4 years who had a positive test result, but
did not have a child with Down Syndrome.
It would appear that there are many false positve results. As for an amnio, that is a personal decision. I opted not to because
terminating a pregnancy was not a consideration for me or my husband. We believe that God is
in control of all things and did not want to do
anything which could jepordize the pregnancy.
Our little girl, along with our oldest child, has
brought us nothing but joy!! You can not possibly know it now, but even if your baby has
Down Syndrome it will be one of the sweetest
and most wonderful gifts that God could have
possibly given you! God Bless you and good
luck!

Vicky
