Wow... You are describing my daughter perfectly, with the attention seeking behavior! Mine makes pig noises! I'm sorry to say that I don't have an answer for you, but believe me.. I UNDERSTAND!

Also, the "School Is Great One Day and Terrible the Next" is just how it is for us, too. And she does MOST of her REALLY bad behavior at school. Believe it or not, your post almost makes me thankful she CAN'T talk very would be IMPOSSIBLE to get her to stop saying something we didnt' like..."Poop" was the worst so far. Every time she got mad at me, it was the FIRST thing out of her mouth, because she KNEW we hated it. We ended up ignoring it (for about a YEAR) and it eventually went away...but I know it's not the same thing as inappropriate sexual talk. THAT would be VERY hard to ignore! Email me if you wish.. Sue

: I have a 13 year old boy who is having a terribly hard time with school and social appropriateness. He thinks everything is a joke and doesn't take what anyone says seriously. He likes to make different noises and talk about ghosts. He does this to get attention (he has had lots of attention from this from his peers from years past). He doesn't want to stop it now. If he wants to say something he does and he doesn't care where he is or what he is doing. After he does it he usually grins about it. How can I get through to him that this must stop? He knows it is wrong. He has his own aide and the school is doing all they possibly can. We have had him checked out by a Dr. and everything is fine. I think this is a matter of control on his part. His days at school are good one day and terrible the next. He is really unpredicable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. His behavior is out of control at this point. The other issue I have is how to get him through puberty. He is starting to use inappropriate sexual language to adults at school. He thinks this is funny too. We have had our "sex" talk but it doesn't help. He tells me he won't do it anymore, but goes in the next day and is socially inappropriate. Thanks for any suggestions that you have.
