When my son was about 10 a doctor suggested to us that we should consider plastic surgery because he did so well and didn't have marked features. His idea was that no one would know and he would have a better chance in life. We considered it but then wondered how we would explain it to our son. He already knew he was beautiful. We decided not to do it and have never been sorry. I understand it was being done commonly in Europe at that time.
