: PLease help - my sister, who is 41 years old and just had her fourth boy, has just been told that her baby has a "mild case" of DS. Is there such a thing as a mild case? What does this entail? What is the best-case scenario for a life for a child such as this? Most importantly, how can I best help her and be a support to her, besides prayers and wishing I could just make it all go away...

: Thank you for any help you can give me.

drop me line at my email and i will answer any questions u have.. my son is 10 also has mild case of downs. they are all different just like all children are different. my son plays baseball, goes to birthday parties, has buddies, goes to sleep over and drives his 12 yr old sister crazy just like any little brother would. is a whiz at playstation and computers, goes to a regular school, is in a special ed class part of the day and in the "regular" class the rest of the day. and his smile is contagious. he is the light of our lives. he is also my fourth child. expect a normal child who has to take a little longer learning things but can learn. if u need to talk i'm at [email protected] linda ;-)
