: My beautiful granddaughther Lindsay is 29 months old and isn't walking yet. She will walk around furniture and even push a toy shopping cart but will not walk unaided. The doctor says there is no medical reason for her not to walk. She weighs 32 pounds and it's hard to carry her. The physical therapist that has been working with her isn't concerned, should we be?

My son who has mosaic down syndrome was late to walk, 26 months, (I thank God he only weighed 20#)
I was very concerned as well, it seemed more like he was scared to walk.Maybe try just walking with
her holding only one hand of hers, and then (you)
walk backwards , still only holding one of her hands and space yourself about 1 1/2 ft. away, and let go, but hold both your arms out to her.
Every day try to have her go just a little farther, and pretty soon she'll be walking without any problem (hopefully). My son is now 5
years old and He doesn't walk because all he knows is running what seems to be 24/7. So don't worry, she will walk one of these days!
