Acne board

I feel your pain. I'm in my early 40's and have had it off and on since my teenage years. The one thing that helped me the most was Accutane. My doc put me on antibiotics for many years, creams, retin-a and nothing worked until I got put on Accutane. I've been on it twice in my life and my skin cleared up for years each time. It's a controversial drug, but I didn't have any problems with it what so ever. My doc monitored me very closely and did liver enzyme tests monthly before he would refill my RX. I took it both times for about 5 months each. I still have an occassional flare up, but it took away the bad cystic acne I had been experiencing. I will still get a big pimple ever so often and now just treat them with otc meds like Neutrogena Rapid Clear which I think is the best zit product on the market. I use the cleanser (I have very oily skin STILL! But I look young so I guess it's a trade off - people still mistake me for being in my late 20's). I wish you good luck. I totally sympathize with you! Go see your doc if you don't clear up. You may need a perscription.
Don't give up there buddy. Ive got the samething as you, probably worse. It's just beat red/discoloured/uneven skin tone. It's not so much pimples, etc. It's hardly that infact. Mine is just really.. red.

But with that said, try accutane if you havent yet. It's the only thing that really works. All the washes and creams, pills, that the doctors prescribe are crap. Dont waste your time with them. Accutane is harsh but it's worth it months later when your not looking like crap and havent spent your paycheque on medicine and other cleaners and such.
