Has Claritin or Flonase been reported to cause ADD-like symptoms (Innatentive type)? My son has taken both of these for about five years now. He suffers from insomnia, ADD inattentive type, anxiety, and OCD. He takes Adderall - not the perfect drug.
Yes, those meds cause ADD symptoms. Allergies themselves also cause ADD symptoms.

What other treatments did you try before the adderall? If you have not tried the safer alternatives already I suggest you do so. Adderall and other stimulant meds are related to cocaine/amphetamines and should be used only when it is necessary (after all other treatments have been tried and failed)

Flonase is a topical, intranasal synthetic corticosteroid. The likelihood of it's causing ADD-like symptoms is miniscule.

Claritin alone, since it is non-drowsy and non-stimulating, *shouldn't* cause ADD syptoms, but the possibility exists. If what your son is taking is Claritin-D, which contains pseudoephedrine, the likelihood of its effecting his ADD symptoms increases. The pseudoephedrine can also worsen his insomnia.

Free~Spirit was correct that allergies themselves can cause inattentive symptoms. It's also common for people to have both.
My son is on Adderall and takes Clariton during allergy season and another decongestion. I give the plain Clariton and it works well for him, if he doesn't have it he is miserable during the day with sniffles. I have never seen that it makes his ADD (type 1) symptoms any different.
