Discussions that mention atenolol

High & Low Blood Pressure board

I just read somewhere recently, that for those whose pb doesn't dip at night, the bp at night might control and give a more even bp throughout the day. In fact, I think it was on the news recently.

In experimenting with my on bp medications, I found that my bp rose int he late afternoon and early evening so I split one of my bp meds in half (atenolol), and that seems to keep my bp more even.

If you can home monitor you bp you can get a pretty good idea of your bp patterns... a doctor usually cannot do that unless you're put on a 24 hour monitor of some sort.

Why not discuss it with your doctor?

Good luck!
