Discussions that mention atenolol

High & Low Blood Pressure board

Tyffica, Good to hear that your hubs doc is so responsive. It's always nice to hear about the good ones who actually listen to their patients. Many of the meds cause different problems for each patient and the good docs listen.

Beth's comment is very true about some meds causing BP to rise. I was on Atenolol, the most evil of meds for me, and because I have a poor peripheral circulation issue, the beta blocker, which is known to restrict peripheral circulation, was raising my bp. I finally figured it out, my doctor actually wanted me to take more, but anyhow, meds effect each of us very differently.

Good luck with the situation and I have a feeling your husband's weight and BP will rapidly improve with his being taken off these additional meds. Sometimes less is more ;), as they say.
