This is my daughters third day taking Augumentin for her double ear infections. She's still in a lot of pain. My question is, how long does it take for the antibiotic to kick in? You see, she had tubes in her ears and throughout her five yrs., I figured out zithromax is the only antibiotic that will work for her. The doctor said that augmentin was stronger. So I'm waiting.
I beleive that by now your daughter should be starting to feel better. Three days is certainly enough time for it to be working. It sounds like she has had a lot of antibiotics and may be resistant to the augmentin. I would call her Dr and ask them to switch it to another one.My daughter had similar issues with antibiotics but she dealt with chronic sinus infections, not ears. Good luck and hope your littel one feels better soon.
