Discussions that mention benadryl

Is your little boy constantly active? If he is, he may have a slight problem with hyperactivity in which you may want to consult his pediatrician. I have a 3 year old little girl and around 7 we start a bedtime ritual, bath, brush the teeth, cup of water, bedtime story, hugs and kisses to everybody, bathroom, in the bed, and even this doesn't always work. With Adrie, if she sleeps in beyond 8 in the morning, she will not go to bed until after 9 or 10. If something wakes her up in the middle of the night, she's up for a couple of hours ( the other night I was up at 3 in the morning with her because of a 1:45 am caller ). If Adrie takes a nap, she won't go to sleep until 11 that night.
I was also watching a 4 year old boy with this problem, we would have him outside running most of the day and would not let him take a nap either. At night, his mom would take him for car rides or give him Benadryl ( I do not recommend this without consulting pediatrician first ).
I probably have to request no naps, a rest period ( watching tv, reading a book ) but no naps. I would also have to ask that he be taken outside to run off the energy.
It is a shame that we haven't found a way of bottling that energy and giving it to the adults.
Hope this helps.
