Can Benicar and Tricor be taken together together?

Do they cause aches and pains?
Don't know about your first question, but to your second, muscle and joint are common side effects to most BP meds. Does the Benicar have the diuretic HCTZ component too? I was taking BenicarHCT until it went off the formulary list and am now taking Avapro which has HCTZ. I too have annoying muscle and joint pains. If you look far enough back in this forum you'll find some of my questions about the same problems. A lot of folks point their finger to HCTZ as a primary factor to these symptoms. Info is sketchy at best.

There are no known interactions between these two drugs.
Both can cause muscle weakness and tenderness, muscle aches and pain. Both of these can also cause rhabdomyolysis. In this disease, the muscle fibers break down and are released into the circulation. Some of these fibers are toxic. As a result, the kidneys are damaged. The damage to the muscles and the kidneys is irreversible.

If you are experiencing problems with your muscles, report these to your doctor promptly. You may have to discontinue both drugs.
