I am new to this forum. I am desperately seeking feedback on something that happened to me yesterday.

I had my gall bladder removed in May 2002. Since then, I have had no problems. I have found that raw veggies tear my stomach up so I avoid those, but other than that, I can eat pretty much what I want.

In January of this year, hubby and I ate at a buffet. We went to a bookstore afterwards and all of a sudden I started getting horrible cramps. I went to their restroom and the cramps got worse. This is the worst part. My body felt like it was on fire. Like the worst hot flash ever, only I don't have hot flashes yet. I got real weak and so hot that I had to come out of my clothes right then and there. I finally got the strength to get to the sink to splash cold water in my face and it was beet red. My head felt like it would explode from pressure, not pain.

I found hubby and he took one look and knew something was wrong. We finally got home and it took a couple of hours before the initial spell was over. It left me weak, nauseous and in bed for 4 days. I figured it was food poisoning or a bug of some sort.

Well, yesterday, we got lunch to go at KFC. I had cole slaw. I hesitated before I ate that, because of the raw cabbage but ate it anyway. Within 5 minutes, my stomach was rumbling. I went to the bathroom and the exact same thing started happening. I was on fire, got so weak I couldn't get up. I was nauseous. I just started praying to God to please stop it. I came out of all of my clothes again as my body was on fire. I had pains you would have with diarrhea, but it took several trips to produce anything. (sorry to be so graphic).
I lay on my bed and turned the fan on full blast. I was sweating profusely.
I couldn't talk, couldn't get to my husband for the longest time. I finally did get to him and he immediately wanted to call 911. But since this was like the episode in January, I knew it would pass. It did take a couple of hours but left me weak and sick.

Today, I have eaten grits only. I went to an urgent care down the street and got Bentyl. But my stomach feels like someone has punched me over and over. It is very tender and raw. The doctor said it was a food allergy of some sort. I can buy that, but why would it make me feel like I am on fire and sweat so profusely???

I am 50 years old. I had a heart attack when I was 39 and now have cardiomyopathy.

If anyone can shed any light on this, I would be so grateful. I know it is complex and even my regular doctor probably won't know what I'm talking about. Like I said, I have never heard anyone ever having this happen and it's never happened to me til January.

Any thoughts???

Thanks in advance......
