Schizophrenia board

OMG!!! Are we dating or seeing the same person? I joined this forum so that i could ask almost word for the word the same question you did.

The guy i am wanting to see is exactly like this guy you described. He's very intense and needy and one of the things I don't like about him is that he obsesses over past relationsip failures and and "rejections". He's constantly harping on why he always gets rejected.

What I do like about him, is that he has offered me more kindness and gentleness than any othr man has ever offered me. We agree politically and connect on so many levels and have all the same hobbies in common.

Actually, he hasn't come right out and said he suffers from schizophrenia. He says he has post traumatic stress syndrome from a car accident several years ago. He however takes the medications, Seraquel, Risperdol, Klonipon, Adderal, Trazedone, Buspar and others and I know damn well you dont need all those antipsychotics for PTSD.

He also doens't work and gets a disability check.

He displays no symptoms of PTSD. Actually, I have PTSD, due to a sexual assault and an abusive childhood. I know what the symptoms of PTSD are and he doens't have one symptom.

Is the intensity a symptom of the shcizophrenia, or does it come from having to much time on his hands due to a lack of a job?

I don't know what advice to give you, because I don't know what to do either. I still like this guy, but the unknown part of his illness scares me.
