I had the same result when I went off estrogen for a while. My HDL went from 63 to 41. It had always been about 60. When I started taking it again, Cenestin not Premarin, it went back up to the usual range.

Hi Jacqueline....BTW, we have the same name, even spelled the same.

Thanx for that info., I was wondering if being off made mine go down, as the dr. used to always say I had good HDL, now it is up and down, and never goes to the high 50's or low 60's anymore.

Never heard of Cenestin. I think the stuff my other dr. put me on, the soy stuff, started with an E???? It really made me so stinking sick to my stomach, but I had no problems with the Premarin. Seeing I have a new dr., I am going to run the idea past her next month and see what she says.

Thanx a bunch......
Yes, I went off estrogen becuse of all the bad news. Then I saw my gynocologist and he told me that estrogen alone did not have the risk of the combination. This was never made clear in the news. Even my GP didn't seem to know. My gynocologist preferred Cenestin to Premarin. I believe Cenestin has a plant source.
