Discussions that mention cialis

Hey Pro,

Congrats on PSA test! Yeah, four months is probably early for erections typically (I was trying with cathader still in). I am 3 years post and I worked at it constantly. Made it a daily habit with or without my spouse. I would suggest taking some viagra and or shots to accelerate the process. Viagra did not work for almost a year. I now take a small slice of cialis and have no problem, and have gone without.

Walshes book says to "be patient..no be very patient"! Dr. Carter at Johns Hopkins told me that improvement can take as long as four years. You do not want any atrophy from lack of use. So take shots or viagra to get things going asap.

I was undergoing the same situation you're in two years ago. Had RRP on June 16, 2003, and still think it was the right decision. I wore a pad for a good while (several months), and then one night, I forgot to wear one and didn't have any leaks, so I decided I could make it without a pad, and did. Even now, I'll have a couple of "droplets" on occasion, but that might be happening even if I'd never had surgery. (I'll be 68 next month.) Also, my uro didn't even want me to consider viagra, levitra or cialis until 5 months later. I didn't let "it" rest in the meanwhile, however. I'm still being patient...but not as patient as Dr. Walsh suggests. Went to a different uro this week and he gave me a prescription for Muse. I've ordered the product and hope to have it early next week. It ain't cheap, but it still may be the best buy I've made in a while!! Congrats from me, too, on your great PSA. "Hang in." Things will get much better!
Proboy & Specialdee,
Have heard those same stories too about being instantly dry & "ready to roll". My experience four weeks after surgery is one of wetness and minimal hardness on a couple of occassions. I am still leaking like Niagra Falls (10-12 pads a day) & the thought of being ready for sex while dripping like that, I am sure, is not a turn on for my wife. The libido is as strong as it ever was but the ole nerves and sensations haven't recovered to the point where they need to be, but it's still early. I do have the "right" feelings down there, just not fully recovered feelings. The doc says some guys recover quickly , others take much longer, says I'm kinda right in the middle of his patient list right now. He has started me on Cialis once a week, I got longer for sure but hardness was minimal.
I will tell you this, with the constant leakage and use of the pads, the ole penile tissue is ultrasensitive to the touch, not to mention a touch of yeast infection. :blob_fire Ah the joys of recovery! :D
Seems like there are as many stories as there are patients. At four months, on the up side, I had absolutely ZERO of the possible side effects from Viagra, Levitra and Cialis. On the down side I also had none of the frontal effects either. MUSE 1000 produced a phenominal result but it was so painful I couldn't stand to be touched for about an hour. MUSE 250 produced a good start toward an errection, but was also painful enough to be distracting.

I'm at almost 9 months now and Viagra now seems to help though not drastically. The wife and I have enjoyed at least a couple of times that I didn't require any medication to get me thru. She can get me to about 75% of what used to be normal with some candlelight, merlot and a little physical stimulation. With one of the rubber rings I can get to about 85-90%.

Do be patient. I am steadily getting closer and closer to normal. There's probably a good chance you will, too.

Dan
